Superlatives sound unnecessarily obsequious in critique of the work by an artist who is world-reknowned and obviously a genius. Abdullah Ibrahim plays with an authentic artistry, which is the expression of a total and consummate immersion in his life experience. For Abdullah is not only in love with music but is a scion, as it were, of the urban black South African experience.
