The BIues Room was voted number one jazz and blues venue in Johannesburg by the readers of the Sandton Chronicle, in their "Best of Jo'burg" annual poll. This famous and unique night club is run with nuclear energy by charismatic ex-New Yorker and rock n roll guitarist George Worthmore with South African partner Durlbar Crewe-Brown The atmosphere is upscale and adult yet casual and very friendly

The Blues Room is open every Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30 until late. The best international and South African blues and R&B bands play four shows a night Tickets are between R25 and R30 at the door. The Blues Room has two dance floors which wrap around the stage on two difterent levels. There is a concert level sound system operated by a full time engineer, providing high quality listening

The Blues Room has a capacity for over 300 guests and can seat 200 for dinner. The menu is international A La Carte with an extensive wine list of international and domestic wines. Reservations for dinner are strongly recommended, especially on the weekends when the Blues Room is always full.

The Blues Room is home for Radio Highveld's unplugged series of broadcasts every other Monday night, featuring South Africa's best rock n roll acts. The SABC also tapes their very popular Jazz Studio from the Blues Room's Stage.

The Blues Room is available tor private parties, functions and lunches and is conveniently located in the Village Walk Shopping Plaza in Sandown which is a safe venue with secure indoor covered parking.
